Draft Film Peer Marking

Within our Media Studies class, we each took turn to watch each others' draft films. We then wrote down what went well in each of the films, as well as what could be improved. This allowed us to see if any improvements could be made to the film, as well as what we did well so that we can keep it up.



MUFFINS - BAD POTATOES STUDIOS



What Went Well:

  • Use of multiple camera angles for a scene

  • Music complements the scene

  • Mac muffins

  • Good cinematography

  • Very entertaining to watch - i like the character muffins

  • Good editing

  • Creative shots

  • Good focusing / focus pulling

  • Very stable footage

  • Funny

  • I like the comedy twist

  • Nice colors (Some scene still need color grading)

  • Interesting narrative


Even Better If:

  • Low sound quality in some dialogues

  • Some awkward silence

  • Color grading

  • Smoother transitions

  • Some scenes too dark

  • Some dialogue inaudible, hard to understand

  • Why you destroy rubber chicken ;-;

  • Music suddenly stops, when the door is seen open

    • Maybe you could fade the music out?

  • Choreography looks like they’re respectfully going one at a time


 


SINGULARIS PRODUCTIONS



What Went Well:

  • Range of camera shots and angles - good cinematography overall

  • Can see clearly the genre shown through mise en scene

  • Costume and props

  • Good action choreography

  • Good use of lighting to create suspense

  • Good location

  • Jason Bourne


Even Better If:

  • Background noise - dialogue echoes

  • Awkward silence

  • Some fight parts not smooth

  • Some scenes are too dark


 


AZURE - PAPILLION PRODUCTIONS



What Went Well:

  • Good acting

  • Good use of location + costumes

  • Color scheme

  • Good dialogue


Even Better If:

  • Filmed more scenes

  • Some shots are too shaky

  • Background noise

  • Weird focus
