4 GOLDEN RULES OF SCRIPTWRITING:
1) Sections
slug line - time & location (int. basement - evening)
action - lists everything that the viewer sees on screen (naked lightbulb sparks to life. it dangles from the ceiling of a basement)
dialogue - everything that is spoken onscreen
ANNA
(quietly)
2) Present Tense
"Is" words should be removed ("Donut is typing" - "Donut types")
3) Show Don't Tell
facial expressions, gestures, levels ("Joe hates pickles")
4) Characters
when a character is introduced, his/her name appears in all capital letters. You can follow this with a brief description of the character. (JOE JOHNSON, 28, wears a suit and walks proudly down the office hallway)
When writing the script, we tried to picture each scene in our head, so the script would flow as much as possible. All 3 of our team members contributed to writing the script. Before writing the script, Pinn offered to write the monologue, as she had had experience with writing monologues previously. However, we all contributed by writing out statements such as "I am free", to help the writing process.
Due to complications with Covid-19, we had to film with a new actor, as Haneul became unavailable. Hence, we needed to change the script, as well as the storyline.
